The Scope 

For every 1,000 sexual assaults, only about 310 are reported to law enforcement— meaning roughly 69% go unreported.

​

Of those 1,000 sexual assaults, the numbers that result in criminal justice outcomes are:

​

  • 50 lead to arrests (5%)*

  • 28 result in felony convictions (2.8%)*

  • 25 perpetrators are sentenced to incarceration.*

only 1 of 6 cases will be pursued. Of those 
CONVICTED
 3 of every 50
will NOT be
sentenced to a single DAY incarcerated.
